The Jimmy Hendrix Experience
This visual chronicle of the Jimi Hendrix Experience highlights some of the finest portraits of Hendrix and his bandmates Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding—concert photos, publicity sessions, and candid backstage shots with contemporaries like Eric Clapton and Pete Townshend—taken in England in 1967. Among the 130 iconic, rare, and previously unpublished images here (some filling two large pages) are photos taken during the recording of their second album, Axis: Bold as Love, as well as later photos from 1968, 69, and 70. Culled from the archives of British independent photo agency Rex Features, these images have been digitized and restored from the original prints, negatives, and transparencies. |
